For years I have been open to an explanation or apology on the part of Derrick Yap or Chrishirl Campos. I believe in forgiveness. However the Catholic Church teaches that protection from abuse is a moral imperative. Absent any sign of remorse on their part, I will warn other victims so they can protect themselves.

Please see this blog post: Superior Derrick Yap: Pastor or Careerist?
When I tried to reach out to Superior Derrick Yap for help, the overall sensation I got was that I had been identified as the preferred target of abuse for one of his friars, and he was going to protect that situation for the benefit of the friar. This friar had been my confessor. I suspected the superior knew this friar had been threatening me, but I didn’t know for sure. I kept thinking to myself that Derrick Yap didn’t seem to care what had happened, and he certainly DID NOT want to know anything I might have to say.
I initially emailed Derrick Yap partly to protect myself against Chrishirl Campos. (See this blog post.) This woman bragged to me that the confessor who had been threatening me was sharing sensitive information about me with her. She knew things I shared in spiritual direction. She said she knew what happened when I received last rites from this friar during a second trimester miscarriage. Most disturbingly, she demanded I forgive transgressions I didn’t even remember.
I did not know who she was, exactly. She said that she was close to the superiors. She would use phrases like “both the superiors and I….” (I have this in text message from her as well.)
Indeed, Chrishirl Campos did seem close to the superiors. She immediately knew the contents of the email I sent to Derrick Yap, the email I sent partly to protect myself against her.
According to the PSSO, this woman was supposed to be a low level contractor, insignificant in the Franciscan world. (Ok. Blatant lie, that.)
My interactions with this woman and the intentional neglect on the part of the Superior Derrick Yap has haunted me for years.
Update:
It was a friar who told me that if priests are to have sex with each other, they should do it privately so they don’t hurt the church. The way he said it made it seem like it was a lesson the friars got. It is best for the church if misdeeds come to light early. Victims, upon having victimized, apparently, are no longer part of the church. It seems the clergy are a sex cult anyways. Victims should go else where for healing. The sooner the better.
